Node.js HostingExpress, Next.js, and your REST APIs

Ultra-fast Node.js hosting at the best price: choose your Node.js version (6.x to 24.x), install your dependencies with npm in an isolated environment, and manage your app from cPanel or over SSH, WebSockets included. All on AMD EPYC, NVMe SSD, and LiteSpeed infrastructure — the same power on every plan.

Starting at $1.95 USD per month, billed annually.

Node.js Frameworks

Host Express, Next.js, and other Node.js frameworks

Any Node.js app that responds to HTTP requests works. Here are the most common use cases among our customers.

Microframework

Express hosting

Dynamic sites, REST APIs, and back ends for mobile apps. Light and fast, it runs great on every plan.

SSR or static

Next.js and Nuxt

In static export or server-side rendering. Build on your machine and upload the output: static files or a Node.js app, depending on the mode you choose.

API

NestJS, Fastify, Koa

Structured TypeScript APIs with NestJS, or ultra-light ones with Fastify and Koa: all you need is a startup file compiled to JavaScript.

Real time

Socket.io and ws

Live notifications, chat, dashboards that update themselves: WebSockets are supported.

Deployment

Deploy a Node.js app in 4 steps

No server to configure, no reverse proxy to maintain: cPanel handles the environment, you handle the code.

  1. Create the app in cPanel

    Open Setup Node.js App, choose the Node.js version (from 6.x to 24.x), the app folder, and the URL it will respond on (domain, subdomain, or subdirectory), then specify its startup file (for example app.js).

  2. Upload your code

    Upload your files via SFTP, SSH / Rsync, or the cPanel File Manager, without the node_modules folder: it's created on the server in the next step. If your code is on Git, you can also clone your repository.

  3. Install your dependencies

    One click on Run NPM Install in Setup Node.js App (or npm install) installs everything listed in your package.json. Each app has its own environment, isolated from the others.

    On the command line, activate the environment first: Setup Node.js App shows the command to copy.

  4. Start the app

    Set your environment variables (NODE_ENV, API keys, database credentials) in cPanel, then click Restart (or touch tmp/restart.txt). Your app is live, with free SSL.

app.js — Express example
const express = require('express');
const app = express();

app.get('/api/hello', (req, res) => {
  res.json({ message: 'Hello from Vtiny Hosting' });
});

// The port is provided by the web server
const port = process.env.PORT || 3000;
app.listen(port);
Simplified example. Our Node.js deployment guide covers putting Express and Next.js into production.
Included for Node.js Developers

Everything you need to run a Node.js project

Included on every plan, starting with Nano.

Node.js 6.x to 24.x

One version per app, changeable anytime. Handy for evolving an old project at your own pace.

npm and npx

Install your packages from cPanel in one click or from the command line, without administrator rights.

Terminal, SSH, and Rsync

Run your migrations, scripts, and npx commands from the command line.

WebSocket

Real-time connections between the browser and your app, with ws or Socket.io — rare for a shared host.

MySQL / MariaDB and SQLite

Connect with mysql2, Prisma, Sequelize, or Knex, and manage your MySQL databases with phpMyAdmin, preinstalled.

Redis and Memcached

Cache your queries and store your Express sessions in RAM with ioredis or node-redis, with no external service to pay for.

Cron Jobs

Schedule your Node.js scripts (sending emails, data sync, reports) rather than using a setInterval, which stops if the app restarts.

Reserved Resources

4 GB of RAM, 2 AMD EPYC vCPUs, and 30 entry processes per account, isolated by CloudLinux: a resource-hungry neighbor won't slow down your app.

Twice-Daily Backups

30 days of backups you can restore yourself from cPanel: code, configuration, and databases.

Shared or VPS?

Is shared Node.js hosting right for your project?

We'd rather be clear from the start: here's what works very well with us, and what's better suited to a dedicated server.

Ideal for

  • REST APIs and back ends for mobile apps or React / Vue sites
  • Express, Next.js, or Nuxt sites: business websites, blogs, portfolios, content sites
  • Business apps: appointment booking, forms, client portals
  • Webhooks and integrations: Stripe payments, Shopify, CRM, notifications
  • Moderate real time: notifications, chat, live dashboards

Better on a VPS

  • Always-on processes: BullMQ workers, Discord bots, Telegram bots in polling mode
  • Large-scale real time: multiplayer games, thousands of simultaneous WebSocket connections
  • Process managers like PM2, or multiple services communicating with each other
  • Root access or system packages to install (Docker, specific native libraries)

Frequently Asked Questions

Node.js hosting questions

Can I host an Express app on shared hosting?

Yes. From cPanel, the Setup Node.js App tool creates your app's environment with the Node.js version of your choice. You specify the startup file (for example app.js), install your dependencies with npm, and your app responds on your domain, with free SSL.

Which Node.js versions are available?

Every major Node.js version from 6.x to 24.x. You choose the version per app, and can change it anytime from cPanel.

Can I host Next.js or Nuxt?

Yes. In static export mode, they work on every plan, like any HTML site. For server-side rendering (SSR), your app runs like a regular Node.js app. We recommend building your project (npm run build) on your computer or in your CI pipeline, then uploading the output: the build is the most memory-intensive step.

Do WebSockets and Socket.io work?

Yes, our servers support WebSocket: live notifications, chat, or real-time dashboards work with ws or Socket.io. For thousands of simultaneous connections, a VPS will be a better fit.

Does my Node.js app run all the time?

Yes: your app starts automatically on the first request, then stays running. It can still be restarted by the server, for example during maintenance or if it exceeds its resources. For scheduled tasks, use cPanel cron jobs rather than a setInterval in your code. Processes that must run nonstop (BullMQ workers, Discord bots) are better served by a VPS.

Which database should I use with Node.js?

MySQL / MariaDB (with mysql2, Prisma, Sequelize, or Knex) or SQLite. Redis and Memcached are also available for caching and sessions.

Which plan should I choose for a Node.js app?

All plans have the same server power. The node_modules folder counts toward your disk space and often exceeds 200 MB (around 350 MB for a Next.js app): the Micro plan (2 GB) suits an API or a small Express site, and the Vtiny plan (5 GB) leaves comfortable headroom for Next.js or multiple apps.
